TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS:
- The Kechnec industrial zone is 18 km from Košice, the second largest city in Slovakia.
- Košice International Airport is 18 km away.
- The zone is located 0.5 km from the border crossing to Hungary. The entrance to Ukraine and Poland is by road approximately 100km.
- The connection to the European motorway network via Hungary is approximately 60km from the park’s border, while in the short term it is planned to complete the necessary section Košice (Slovakia) – Miskolc (Hungary). This will create a continuous motorway from Košice to the whole of Europe after accession to the European Union. The I/68 road, which passes by the Kechnec zone, is part of the north-south corridor of the international transport route Baltic States – Poland – Slovakia – Hungary – Balkans.
- Through the village of Kechnec passes the railway line, which is included in the international European agreement on the routes of international combined transport. This railway line connects Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
- For rail freight to Ukraine, access to a transhipment point from the standard European line to the eastern broad gauge line is needed. Such a transhipment point is located 3,5 km from the Kechnec industrial zone.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE R4 MOTORWAY
By knocking the foundation stone in Kechnec in the presence of government representatives and representatives of the National Motorway Company, the construction of the more than 14 km long section of the R4 Košice – Milhosť expressway, which will connect Košice with the Hungarian border, was officially launched on 27 August 2010. The construction is being carried out by Skanska SK, a. s. at a cost of almost EUR 78 million.The section of the expressway Košice – Milhosť will include 14 bridge structures, two off-grade crossings and almost 2 kilometres of noise barriers. For new investors, the completion of the transport infrastructure will increase the attractiveness of the eastern Slovak region.
